Job Summary:

As a Box Sorter, you are a key part of our logistics team, responsible for the manual inspection and sortation of materials to meet Propak standards and production goals. In this role, you will evaluate the quality of incoming boxes, preparing them for reuse through precise palletization and labeling. What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

As a Box Sorter, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Breaking down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
  • Inspecting boxes for damage and reuse.
  • Stickering boxes acceptable for reuse by covering barcodes.
  • Palletizing boxes by size.
  • Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements, with a standard production goal of at least one pallet per hour.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
  • Complying with all Propak policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for 8 or more hours a day.
  • Manual Labor Experience: Previous experience in manual labor or a similar physically demanding role is preferred.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to frequently perform repetitive movements including squatting, bending, and twisting throughout the shift.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong ability to accurately hand-sort and palletize boxes by size while inspecting them for damage or reuse.
  • Reliability: A dependable and trustworthy individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Safety Awareness: Ability to identify and follow all safety and Propak policies while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary; we will provide comprehensive training.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Capable of repeatedly handling, lifting, and moving boxes of varying sizes and weights.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for breaking down, inspecting, and stickering boxes.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
  • Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
