Job description

Position Summary:
The Materials Department Box Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating box trucks and forklifts while supporting material handling activities to ensure timely and accurate movement of parts and supplies. This role supports both transportation and warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate box trucks to transport materials and automotive parts according to assigned schedules and routes.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload, stage, and move materials within the warehouse and production areas.
  • Load and secure materials for transport, ensuring accuracy and damage prevention.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on box trucks, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, inventory records, and required documentation.
  • Support inventory control activities, including stock rotation, material replenishment, and line-side delivery.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and traffic laws.
  • Communicate effectively with materials, warehouse, and production teams to ensure on-time material flow.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical as required for box truck operation.
  • Prior experience driving box trucks preferred.
  • Forklift experience required (sit-down and/or stand-up); forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Physical Requirements:
