Folder Gluer Operator

Join Our Team

Sheboygan Paper Box is looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Folder Gluer Operator to join our Finishing Department. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality folding carton products by setting up, operating, and maintaining advanced finishing equipment. If you enjoy working with machinery, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and being part of a team that takes pride in quality craftsmanship, we'd like to hear from you.

Shift: 3rd (10:00pm-6:00am)

Compensation: Starting at $25/hr (Based on experience) plus $1.50 shift premium

What You'll Do

As a Folder Gluer Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining finishing equipment while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain Bobst finishing equipment, including hot melt and cold glue systems
  • Operate equipment such as:
    • Domino 110
    • Alpina with Easy Feeder and Cartonpack II
    • Masterfold with Easy Feeder, Batch Inverter, and Cartonpack II
    • HHS Gluing Systems
    • Heiber Schroeder Window Machine
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Lead and coordinate crew activities to support production schedules and workflow
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) as required
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Previous Folder Gluer operating experience strongly preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Successful completion of a mechanical aptitude assessment

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Manufacturing, printing, packaging, or finishing experience is a plus

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand factory tickets, work instructions, and production documentation
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and measurements
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and adjustments
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
  • Ability to distinguish colors and perform close-up visual inspections
