Job description

Job Summary

The Bowling Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and operational support within the bowling center. This position requires a positive attitude, strong hospitality skills, and the ability to interact professionally with members and guests during league play, open bowling, and special events. The Bowling Attendant supports daily bowling operations through effective communication, computer proficiency, and knowledge of bowling systems and club events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service to all bowlers, members, and guests
  • Assist league bowlers and guests with lane assignments, scoring systems, and general bowling inquiries.
  • Operate and maintain bowling software systems including Conqueror bowling league software, bowlers terminal keyboard systems, and BLS (Bowling League Secretary) software.
  • Support bowling leagues, open bowling activities, tournaments, and special events.
  • Monitor bowling operations to ensure smooth and efficient guest experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with the Bowling Director, Assistant Director, mechanics, and other team members regarding operational needs or guest concerns.
  • Assist with event preparation, league coordination, and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bowling desk and surrounding areas.
  • Respond to guest concerns or issues calmly, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Follow club policies, safety standards, and operational procedures at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of BLS (Bowling League Secretary System) preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Qubica Conqueror Bowling Management System preferred but not required.
  • Basic bowling knowledge is helpful.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and problem-solve in a calm and professional manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with members and guests.
