What is a boutique creative agency?

A boutique creative agency is a small, specialized firm that offers personalized marketing, branding, design, and advertising services. Unlike larger agencies, boutique agencies focus on delivering customized solutions tailored to each client's unique needs, often with a more hands-on approach and direct access to senior talent. They typically work with a select number of clients, allowing for greater creativity, agility, and attention to detail. These agencies are ideal for businesses seeking innovative ideas and a close working relationship with their creative partners.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive at a boutique creative agency?

To thrive at a boutique creative agency, you need a strong background in creative concept development, visual design, and project management, often supported by a degree in design, marketing, or communications. Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, project management platforms like Asana or Trello, and digital marketing systems is common. Exceptional collaboration, adaptability, and client communication skills distinguish top performers in this environment. These abilities ensure innovative solutions, effective teamwork, and successful client outcomes in a fast-paced, highly personalized setting.

What are some typical challenges faced when working at a boutique creative agency, and how can I prepare for them?

At a boutique creative agency, team members often wear multiple hats and juggle diverse responsibilities due to the smaller team size. This can mean shifting quickly between projects, collaborating closely with clients, and adapting to fast-changing priorities. To succeed, it's helpful to be flexible, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity. Building strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset will help you thrive in this dynamic environment, as you’ll frequently work cross-functionally and contribute ideas beyond your core role.

Job description

Yearly

Kessler Hospitality’s portfolio of artistically inspired boutique hotels features unique design, luxurious accommodations, enriching ambiance, and intuitive service. With properties throughout Colorado, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, each hotel’s exquisite art, music, and cultural influences are intentionally approachable. Designed to inspire and create unforgettable experiences, Kessler guests are immersed in refined Bohemian luxury, whether at a cutting-edge downtown icon, a premier luxury lodge, Savannah’s entertainment destination, or an elite ski lodge. As the founding member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, Kessler Hospitality has long championed bold, original hotels, each carefully created with distinctive style and the Individualist traveler in mind.

The AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is located in the heart of historic Savannah on the Savannah riverfront, with countless activities a short walk away. Explore the downtown Savannah shopping district, eat at one of the hotel's many restaurants, reconnect with friends at our riverside Savannah bars, or embark on one of the city's various walking tours.

Once a power plant, Plant Riverside District represents the beauty of progress. Our three unique buildings are enriched in history, from chic architecture in the Power Plant to romantic styling in the Three Muses and contemporary maritime details in the Atlantic. Complete your experience with a relaxing visit to the hotel spa before you enjoy the vibrant nightlife in the entertainment district.

We are seeking a Creative Services Manager to join the marketing team at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District – a landmark destination on the Savannah riverfront encompassing the JW Marriott hotel, eclectic dining, entertainment venues, a spa, and a curated collection of retail and cultural programming.

  • Manage content libraries and asset organization across both properties
  • Repurpose content across channels, formats, and audiences with a sharp eye for quality and brand consistenc

Brand & Campaign Support

  • Translate Kessler brand guidelines and campaign briefs into property-level creative executions for JW Savannah and Plant Riverside District
  • Support the rollout of seasonal campaigns, food & beverage promotions, event marketing, and experiential programming
  • Collaborate with the corporate creative team to ensure all output meets brand standards and strategic objectives
  • Maintain brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints, including signage, menus, in-room materials, and digital platforms

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines across two active properties
  • Brief external vendors, agencies, and freelancers; oversee production timelines, proofing, and delivery
  • Track and manage creative budgets for both properties in partnership with the marketing team
  • Establish and maintain efficient creative workflows and approval processes with property leadership

Social & Digital Support

  • Work in close collaboration with the social media agency and in-house team to supply assets, creative briefs, and real-time content captures as needed
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and competitive creative benchmarks relevant to luxury hospitality

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in creative services, content production, or marketing, preferably in hospitality, luxury, or lifestyle industries
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end creative production across digital and print channels
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere or equivalent video editing tool)
  • Experience managing creative projects from concept through delivery, including external vendors and freelancers
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-property environment with shifting priorities

Preferred

    • Experience working in a hotel, resort, or multi-venue hospitality environment
    • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards a plus
    • Basic photography or on-camera directing experience
