Job description

Neurological Specialists of Central Florida is a neurology practice with a special focus in movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease, tremors, tics, dystonia (including patients that receive or qualify for injections of botulinum toxin) and dementia’s, including Alzheimer’s disease and Diffuse Lewy Body Dementia.


We are seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist that is compassionate, intelligent, and self-motivated. This role has career growth and professional development opportunities for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities include:

  • Using eClinicalWorks EMR system
  • Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
  • Checking patients in/out
  • Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling and rescheduling
  • Set up new patients and update current patients’ information in the EMR system
  • Verifying financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, faxes, and medical record requests
  • Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders
  • Maintain the front desk and reception area in an organized fashion
  • Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues
  • prior experience getting botox, toxin authorizations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person
  • Organization and time management to manage a variety of tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail to schedule patients correctly and communicate scheduling difficulties with providers and management
  • Interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients who may be upset or stressed

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • eClinicalWorks experience preferred


Qualified candidates will be able to handle challenges in a positive and professional manner, as well as understand when to escalate an issue to other appropriate staff members.
