Job Description
The internship will be from either January - August 2027, or May - December 2027.
This internship takes place in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the headquarters of Bosch North America, in the Calibration Engineering group of Power Solutions.
The successful candidate will be given an 8 -month project, that has been defined in advance by their Engineering Mentor.
As an AI Application Intern at Bosch, you will work on cutting-edge AI and automation initiatives while collaborating with a dynamic team. You will help design and implement solutions that leverage AI, data analytics, and Microsoft technologies to simplify workflows and eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Work within a Python development environment to analyze unfamiliar code, develop scripts that parse files and interact with APIs, and independently troubleshoot and debug existing software solutions.
  • Design and develop automation solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, leveraging tools such as Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft Graph API, VBA, and Office Scripts.
  • Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) and support automation initiatives using AI agents, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph.
  • Develop Power BI reports and automation solutions to improve data accessibility, and support business decision-making
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed tools and processes, and deliver user training to support successful adoption. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as a significant portion of this role involves explaining technical concepts and automation solutions to non-software engineers.

Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, with at least one semester completed
  • 1+ year academic or industry experience with software languages and operating systems.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must work 35-40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with prompt engineering
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Python skills
  • Automotive-related hobby and/or experience working with engines or vehicles.
