Ferguson is seeking a Machinist to join our team at our La Porte location.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 7am-4pm plus overtime as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and maintain machines in the shop for pump fabrication.
  • Accurately measure, record, and draw pump components. Example of measuring tools (Vernier Calipers, Micrometer, Inside Micrometers and indicators).
  • Read and analyze design drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as VTL, Horizontal Boring Machine, & Lathes.
  • Support teardown and assembly of pumps when machining not required.
  • Observe vital safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of equipment and parts for storage and transportation.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of manual lathe experience preferred
  • Prior of fabrication experience is preferred
  • Ability to work with little direction while building tools or fixtures for production.
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Welding experience a plus
