At Borg Insurance Agency & Associates, we've built our reputation by combining exceptional client service with outstanding technical expertise. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional to join our Commercial Underwriting team.

As an Underwriting Account Associate, you'll play a critical role in helping our underwriters and account executives move business efficiently from submission to binding while ensuring every client receives the high level of service that defines Borg.

What You'll Do

As part of our Underwriting/Marketing team, you'll provide operational support throughout the commercial insurance placement process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with new business submissions and commercial renewal remarketing.
  • Review applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate the binding process, ensuring all required subjectivities are satisfied.
  • Prepare Premium Finance Agreements.
  • Process Certificates of Insurance accurately and promptly.
  • Request and organize loss runs from insurance carriers.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting files and documentation within our agency management system.
  • Prepare proposals, comparison summaries, and other client-facing materials.
  • Support Underwriters and Account Executives throughout the marketing and placement process.
  • Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, brokers, clients, and internal team members.
  • Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Commercial insurance experience is required
  • Experience in underwriting support, account management, agency operations, or client service is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Applied EPIC is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • New York Property & Casualty License preferred or willingness to obtain.
Location
  • While in person / hybrid is strongly preferred
  • Fully Remote may be considered for a stand out candidate.
