BORDERLANDS PRODUCE RESCUE

Tucson, AZ

Other

Posted 27 days ago

Job description

Every Saturday Borderlands Produce Rescue hosts weekly produce markets. At each market community members line up to receive 70lbs of fresh reduced produce for a donation of $15 to support the mission of Borderlands Produce Rescue.

Produce is delivered to the distribution site early each morning and volunteers begin to arrive at 4:00 am. Produce allotments have already been assigned and will be available in the form of lists on site. The responsibility of morning volunteers is to sort the produce into boxes so it can be easily picked up by supporters.

For example, as part of the 70lbs of produce if we are providing 7lbs of green beans it will be your responsibility to bag 7lbs of green beans and add it to the produce box. If we are providing 15 heirloom tomatoes you will count off the 15 and add them to the box. And so on. Each location will receive approximately 5-11 variations of produce to be added to pick-up boxes for Borderlands supporters.
