Job description

What a BOP Tools Tech Lead does:
This position plays a leading role in assisting with coordinating the day-to-day, task-orientated activities of the BOP Tools Technician department. This includes knowledge of the repair and certification process including documentation for all BOP's and/or downhole tools utilized in the district. Assists with ensuring tools, supplies and other job requirements are available and reliable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for high level knowledge and servicing of all blow out preventers, pack offs, reel swivels, lubricators, iron and down hole tools.
  • Responsible for performing and documenting all pressure tests for components after service.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current processes and procedures and participates in training offered.
  • Organizes and maintains the facility, including the testing station and storeroom.
  • Assists management in developing a preventive maintenance system for these components.
  • Assists in support and training of procedures to ensure consistent practices and processes are followed.
  • Assists with monitoring of on-site Team Members duties, workload and performance and provides feedback to direct and indirect reports
  • Assists manager with inventory related duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of oil field experience. Includes servicing BOP's and or downhole tools
  • Valid Driver's license with a clear record for at least 3 years.
  • Experience in managing expendable materials inventory.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent safety awareness.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize duties.
  • Available and willing to travel.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
