Title: Boom Pump Operator
Location: Field - FL
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: ODC Construction is looking for an experienced and dedicated Boom Pump Operator
to oversee the operation of boom pump trucks and manage a team of operators. This
role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and
efficiency.
Reports to: Director of Fleet & Equipment
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Team Management: Directly supervise 6 Boom Pump Operators and 1 Tractor Trailer Driver, ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of boom pumps, coordinating with the Slab Scheduler, Crew Leaders, Field Managers, and Area Managers to ensure timely and efficient concrete delivery.
- Problem Resolution: Address immediate job-related issues reported by Boom Pump Operators, including safety concerns, weather conditions, and equipment problems. Communicate with the Slab Scheduler and Field Manager to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
- Equipment Repair Management: Handle immediate repairs on boom pumps and chassis, walking operators through quick fixes or dispatching other pumpers as needed. Coordinate with the Director and repair vendors for major repairs or towing needs.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Schedule regular maintenance and repairs for boom pumps and tractors, ensuring all machines are in compliance with safety and operational standards. Manage parts ordering and inventory for ongoing repairs.
- Training & Development: Develop and implement training plans for new hires, assessing their skills and providing hands-on training with experienced operators. Regularly evaluate training effectiveness and readiness for independent operation.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ODC's safety standards, conducting monthly inspections and managing yard cleanliness in the boom area of the garage. Prepare for hurricane-related precautions and environmental controls.
- Material Management: Order and maintain necessary materials and lubricants for boom pumps, ensuring availability and proper stock levels.
- Documentation & Reporting: Utilize Fleetio to track maintenance and repair costs, capturing notes and issues from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
● Tasks may include standing, walking, bending, and carrying up to 80 lbs., with or without a
reasonable accommodation
● Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
● This position requires the ability to work outdoors for extended periods in a variety of weather
conditions, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
● Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B as required by
vehicle type.
● Clean driving record with no major violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, license suspension) in
the past 3–5 years.
● Must pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
● Familiar with FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) logs, and electronic logging devices
(ELDs).
● Responsible for completing daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any
maintenance needs.
● Must safely load, secure, and unload materials and equipment in accordance with company and
DOT safety policies.
● Ability to navigate construction sites, narrow access roads, and variable terrain safely
and efficiently.
