Job description

Our client in Springfield, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper for a contract to permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can manage a wide range of bookkeeping and accounting functions while supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with day-to-day accounting processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Process invoices, payments, and billing transactions
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed
  • Prepare financial reports and support internal reporting needs
  • Assist with payroll processing and related recordkeeping
  • Maintain organized financial files and documentation
  • Support audits, tax preparation, and other accounting-related projects as needed
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations


  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, including full-charge bookkeeping responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
