Wegner CPAs is proud to partner with a Madison-based 501(c)(3) organization that supports Dane County residents through community involvement, mentorship, education, employment skills, supportive housing, transportation, financial literacy, and youth programming.  This amazing organization is hiring for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Madison.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
    • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits.
    • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
    • Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
    • Support external accountants and auditors by providing requested financial information.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting regulations.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
    Qualifications
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
    • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
    • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
