Job description

Morningside University is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative full-time Associate Registrar to support the Registrar, interacts with many departments and coordinates the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office. This is an opportunity to help shape the student experience!

What You’ll Do:

  • Provides information to various agencies concerning scholarships
  • Works with Post-Secondary/Senior Scholar registrations, Siouxland Start
  • Prepares for summer registrations
  • Enters course information into computer system for each term
  • Requests information for the course book each term and publishes the course book for each term
  • Works with Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs in assigning classrooms each term
  • Works with Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs in preparing the final exam schedule for each semester
  • Handles veteran benefits, such as certifying students, catalog approval, maintaining compliance
  • Handles exit and withdrawals as well as deferments and transfers
  • Sends end of semester letters (Dean’s List, Probation, Continued Probation, Removal from Probation, Suspension, etc.)
  • Assists with graduation procedures--the commencement program, seating chart, names on chairs, line-up, as well as background responsibilities to ensure the smooth execution of the graduation ceremony
  • Serves as the contact person for FERPA updates the manual as necessary; coordinates training sessions and the distribution of manuals
  • Attends faculty meetings and Curriculum Policies and Assessment Committee meetings as directed by the Registrar
  • Register students when necessary; processes add/drop forms, and other forms
  • Supervises work-study students
  • Assists in processing transcript requests when necessary as well as enrollment letters & education verifications

What you Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Management skills necessary to supervise work study students, to meet deadlines, and to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Strong computer knowledge and experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and work well with all constituents
