Job description

Friendship is looking for a Concierge / Switchboard Operator to join our Friendship Richfield Campus in Salem, VA. The Switchboard Operator is responsible for answering and directing all incoming calls to the facility. This position facilitates communication for staff, residents and visitors. Looking for weekend coverage and some weekday mornings and evenings.

Shift:

  • 24-48 hours per week
  • Must be able to work 2:45pm-11:15pm and 10:45pm-7:15am
  • Must have weekend availability 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming calls courteously and in a timely fashion; ensure all calls are directed correctly
  • Support daily customer service operations and activities (greet all incoming persons, direct all visitors and vendors to appropriate areas)
  • Maintain a daily log of events for each shift as well as the building maintenance log
  • Follow procedures and protocols in the event of an emergency
  • Full and complete knowledge of Fire Drill, Bomb Threat, Hostage Plan, Workplace Violence, and Severe Weather policies and procedures
  • Awareness of location and purpose for SDS binders as well as CUT OFF book
  • Answer all incoming calls courteously and in a timely fashion; ensures all calls are directed correctly
  • Performs basic administrative functions to include mail sorting & distribution to employees and residents

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 6 months Customer Service experience preferred
  • Must possess basic computer skills and be familiar with basic office equipment
  • Must possess excellent phone/communication skills
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
