Job description

ABOUT THIS POSITION

As part of the Waystar (NASDAQ: WAY) Finance Team, this role is a core contributor to the company's monthly forecasting process, Annual Operating Plan, and long range planning. The position is responsible for producing accurate, timely, and driverbased forecasts by partnering closely with functional leaders to understand performance trends, key assumptions, and emerging risks and opportunities. The role leads endtoend forecast and annual Planning cycles, including data consolidation, assumption validation, scenario analysis, and managementready deliverables. This includes preparing clear variance analyses versus prior forecasts, Plan, and actual results, translating complex financial outcomes into concise insights for senior leadership and external stakeholders. Senior Analysts are expected to demonstrate strong ownership of planning and forecasting outputs, continuously refine financial models, and identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, transparency, and process efficiency. Success in this role requires strong crossfunctional business partnership, the ability to manage multiple planning timelines simultaneously, and a proactive mindset focused on decision support and performance management. This position offers the opportunity to deepen FP&A expertise while building leadership presence in a fastpaced, growthoriented environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own and execute financial analysis, reporting, and driverbased modeling to support the monthly forecast and Annual Operating Plancycles, including adjusted results and key business metrics.

  • Prepare, analyze, and explain historical actuals, adjusted results, and forwardlooking projections, delivering clear variance analysis versus prior forecast,Plan, and actuals with increasing independence.

  • Lead the preparation and ongoing refinement of managementready forecastsandOperating Plandeliverables for senior leadership and Board reporting.

  • Deliver concise, insightdriven analyses to senior and executive leadership on both a recurring and adhoc basis, translating complex financial outcomes into actionable recommendations.

  • Lead initiatives toidentifyfinancial, operational, and process improvement opportunities, with a focus on improving forecast accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.

  • Enhance forecasting and financial insights byleveragingPower BI and AI tools to automate reporting, increase visibility into key drivers, and support datadriven decisionmaking.

  • Gather, integrate, and analyze data from multiple systems and sources to ensure forecast integrity, assumption alignment, and consistency across planningand forecastingcycles.

  • Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to strengthen planningand forecastingprocesses, modeling methodologies, and business insights, effectively communicating recommendations to management and crossfunctional partners.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, ora relatedfield.

  • 3-5+ years of similar work experience.

  • Assurance or advisory experience with Big Four accounting firms is strongly preferred.

  • CPA, CFA, or other relevantcertificationsa plus.

  • Experience working for a publicly traded company or private equity-backed business.

  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, accounting concepts, and US GAAP.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently on complex analyses.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks and assignments.

  • A passionfor personal development, aspiring to be a subject matter expert and leader within the Finance team.
