About the Team

The Data Product team is one of the five verticals within the newly established Chief Data Office (CDO), part of T. Rowe Price's Chief Operating Office (COO). The team is responsible for establishing and leading the firm-wide data product strategy and framework across all aspects of T. Rowe Price's business. Additionally, the team is accountable for delivery and ownership of multiple foundational data products used across the firm. Data Products are a key pillar of the firm's overall Data strategy, and the team is on the front lines of bringing this strategy to life with business users and data consumers across the enterprise.

Role Summary

The Data Product Team is seeking a skilled Senior Business Analyst to focus on the Position and Transaction Foundational Data Products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze, interpret, and leverage data to improve business processes and drive strategic business decisions through the development of Data Products. The role will require the ability to understand the structure of the Investment Book of Record data, how it relates to consumer's needs, and documenting that for technology partners to execute upon. To succeed in the role, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in data, business analysis, and intellectually curious.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data - Analysis and documentation of complex Investment Book or Records Positions and Transactions data product requirements, modelling, and gap analysis. Identify trends, inconsistencies, and work to understand intricate requirements.
  • Develop Solutions - Design and develop foundational data products within the Data Product Framework, collaborating with data consumers, technical partners, and governance groups.
  • Requirements Documentation - Gather, communicate, and partner with Data Product Owner to prioritize and manage, ensuring alignment with business goals, capacity, and technical feasibility. Ensure that documentation is high quality, thorough and complete, and well understood by all parties and enables sign-off
  • Cross-functional Collaboration - Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across the firm to drive data product development from concept through launch and continuing operations. Assist Project Managers with planning, supporting tasks and ensuring all stakeholders are fully engaged.
  • User Experience - Champion user-centric design principles and ensure that data products meet user needs and deliver an exceptional user experience that enables consumer adoption of data products.
  • Risk Management - Identify potential risks and dependencies, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to ensure successful data product delivery.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.
