Wound Care Physician & Medical Director Opportunity at Bon Secours!

Bon Secours Richmond Market - Petersburg, VA

Bon Secours is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Wound Care Physician with Medical Director responsibilities to join our growing wound care program serving the Richmond market, including Petersburg and surrounding communities. This position combines hands‑on patient care with clinical leadership and program oversight across multiple wound care facilities within the Bon Secours Richmond market.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, and surgical wounds
  • Perform wound debridement and bedside procedures as appropriate
  • Develop individualized, evidence‑based wound care treatment plans
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, therapists, nursing staff, and home health agencies
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Document patient encounters, billing, and follow‑up care in EPIC
Medical Director Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the wound care program
  • Establish and maintain clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in strategic planning and operational development
  • Review clinical outcomes and implement initiatives to improve healing rates and patient satisfaction
  • Mentor and support clinical staff on wound care best practices
  • Participate in peer review, credentialing, and medical staff activities
