Job description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: The Instructional Designer is responsible for working collaboratively with the Learning and Development team and other key stakeholders to achieve project goals as defined in strategic and operational plans. The Instructional Designer will use sound instructional design methodologies and work processes to produce current, relevant education content for assigned projects that meet customer needs and expectations.
Principal Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short and long-term projects as assigned
Develop a complete working knowledge and understanding of all BOMI product materials for all delivery methods.
Work independently to create interactive and instructionally sound learning products using proven instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
Collaborate with assigned project development resources, including SMEs, learners, and instructors to ensure quality in product materials.
Adhere to project deadlines and BOMI instructional design standards for all project tasks.
Research and apply emerging technologies and instructional design strategies to enhance learning outcomes, products, and credential quality.
Participate in the development and delivery of educational support documentation, including standards, learner and instructor coursebooks, and workflow processes.
Enhance existing and create new assessment processes and protocols for all products in alignment with learning outcome goals.
Review and revise exam items as necessary to meet performance validation standards for BOMI assessments.
Ensure learning materials developed are designed to address audience needs and learning styles.
Work to enhance current instructional design knowledge by attending relevant seminars, trade shows, and referencing appropriate industry resources.
Demonstrate positive team and collaborative techniques for project success.
Support of other education initiatives as requested by the Director of Learning & Development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
3-4 years of experience in a learning or training organization.
Previous work experience in an adult education environment preferred.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience:
Excellent technical skills to include working knowledge of:
-Articulate Storyline
-Microsoft Office products
-Current eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate, InDesign,
Photoshop, Illustrator, and other multimedia design tools
Experience with learning delivery and content curation tools.
Learning management system experience
Demonstrates initiative and innovative focus
Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple projects.
Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines within specified timelines.
Physical Requirements:
-May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
-May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, including but not limited to pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephones, fax machines, etc.
