Job description

  • Summary

The Requisition Engineer is an engineering role within the New Unit Business (NUB) Engineering Group. The position owns the technical integrity of material requisitions, engineering documentation support, WBS development, and materials cost estimation for NUB projects. This role serves as the engineering interface between Design Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, ensuring that materials are specified correctly, procured on time, and aligned with project deliverables.
  • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement.
    • Adhere to the Company's objectives, i.e. Safety, Quality, Environmental and Information Security.

  • Create and maintain SAP part numbers with technically accurate descriptions per SOP methodology; audit item master to eliminate duplicates.
  • Ensure revision traceability in ERP/PLM systems so procurement always reflects the latest released engineering configuration.
  • Identify discrepancies between design documents and ERP data; initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as needed.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Logistics to create final ship-loose BOMs and packing lists for NUB shipments.

2. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Development
  • Build and maintain WBS elements for NUB Projects, including change orders, Engineering, PM, Logistics, procurement, and material deliverables within NUB capital projects.
  • Align WBS codes with project schedules, cost accounts, and milestone reporting.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls to ensure material milestones integrate into overall project tracking and earned-value reporting.

3. Technical Specification Development & RFQ Support
  • Draft or refine purchase specifications for raw materials, fabricated components, and subassemblies in support of NUB projects.
  • Review supplier RFQ responses for technical compliance-dimensional accuracy, material certifications, process capability, and applicable codes/standards (ASME, ASTM, AWS, API, ISO, etc.).
  • Vet technical details of RFQs before issue; coordinate with Design, Process, and Quality Engineering to resolve ambiguities.
  • Ensure QA/QC requirements (inspection level, certifications, test reports, MTRs) are accurately reflected in item master and purchase requests.
