Job description

Job Title: HSE Specialist (Multiple Locations Available)

Location: Multiple LA & MS Locations (LA: Mandeville, and Amelia; MS: Pascagoula)

Position Overview: Bollinger Shipyards is seeking an HSE Specialist to support all Bollinger facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of OSHA and other local, state, and federal rules and regulations. This role involves developing and monitoring company safety programs, conducting field assessments to ensure regulatory compliance, and achieving Company HSE goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor company safety programs across multiple locations.
  • Perform field assessments and audits to ensure a safe working environment and adherence to company programs.  Field assessments within the facilities typically make up 40% of the position’s role.
  • Ensure OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulatory compliance and achieve Company HSE goals.
  • Conduct incident investigations, analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Use MS Office applications proficiently for various tasks. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience in HSE compliance required.
  • B.S. in Occupational Safety or Health related technical field OR Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to research, develop, revise, and implement policies, procedures and programs across multiple locations.
  • Ability to deliver company safety program trainings.
  • Effectively conducts field inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated and effective communicator with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Maritime industry experience is a plus.
  • Able to travel to multiple locations in MS & LA
