Job description

Under general supervision, operates and maintains boiler heating plants and related equipment. On low pressure
boilers or small capacity boilers, work as shift charge or watch.


-Assists/helps the stationary engineer in the operation and
maintenance of one or more high and/or low pressure boilers and
related pumps, blowers, tanks, auxiliary generator, HVAC
equipment, sump pumps and other plant equipment.

-Helps the stationary engineer in the installation, replacements and
improvements in the boiler plant as directed.

-Help stationary engineer to maintain the plant operation log for his
shift and note any unusual problems or conditions for the attention
of the duty stationary engineer.ย 

-Serves on Hospitalโ€™s Fire Response team. Participates in all
hospital emergency/Fire drills, performance/quality improvement
and other activities as required.ย 


-Minimum three years of experience as Fireman or equivalent in a boiler/heating plant. Complete familiarity with all
types of plant equipment and its operation. Understands maintenance and operational manual. Has institutional
experience. Healthcare experience preferred.
