Now Hiring: Senior / Lead Commercial HVAC Technician Location: Davenport, Iowa Pay: $35-$50 per hour (Based on Verified Commercial Experience) Full-Time | Permanent | Immediate Opening

Position Overview

  • Job Title: HVAC Technician
  • Schedule: Full-Time | 8-hour shifts | Overtime Available | On-call Rotation

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems

Service large RTUs, boilers, hydronic systems, pumps, cooling towers, make-up air units, and VRF systems

Perform combustion analysis and burner setup

Interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and sequence of operation

Diagnose electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V

Communicate professionally with facility managers, engineers, and controls contractors

Complete detailed service documentation

Maintain high safety and workmanship standards

MENTORSHIP & LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentor and train apprentices and junior technicians in commercial diagnostics and best practices

Demonstrate proper troubleshooting methodology rather than "parts changing"

Review and guide apprentice service documentation for accuracy and professionalism

Model safe work habits and code-compliant installations

Help develop the next generation of commercial HVAC technicians within our organization

This role requires strong diagnostic ability, leadership maturity, and the confidence to work without direct supervision while developing others.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE APPLYING

Applicants who do not meet the following requirements will not be considered:

Minimum 5 years of verifiable commercial or industrial HVAC service experience (Residential-only experience does not qualify)

EPA Universal Certification

Iowa HVAC License (Journeyman or Master preferred) or ability to obtain immediately

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills

Experience with boilers and hydronic systems

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Ability to pass background check and drug screening



HIGHLY PREFERRED

Experience in hospitals, manufacturing facilities, schools, or large commercial buildings

Experience with Trane, Carrier, Daikin, AAON, Cambridge, RayPak, Thermal Solutions, or similar commercial equipment

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

Factory / OEM certifications

Ability to read blueprints and control schematics
