Job Title: LAW/BOF/LAB Engineering SME

Location: Work shall be conducted at the Hanford Field Office and the Hanford Site in Richland, WA.

Citizenship: US Citizenship required

Salary: $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 - salary range. You will receive a competitive total rewards package that is applicable to the U.S. only. The salary range may vary based on years of applicable experience, skillset, education background/certifications and geographical location.

AttainX, Inc. is in search of a skilled LAW/BOF/LAB Engineering SME to support the Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Field Office (HFO) requires general support services for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Project (WTP) engineering division.

Required Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in engineering, science or technical discipline
  • 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for BS/BA degree
• 5 years of experience in contractor oversight and engineering programs on a capital project similar to WTP
• Experience with WTP engineering requirements for mechanical, chemical (e.g., ammonia) and ventilation structures, systems and component operations
• Experience with researching and navigating complex federal regulations to determine requirements for contractor performance attributes on a capital project

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct HFO experience with the Hanford Site mission and WTP project, activities and priorities
• Experience with performance of engineering activities
• Proven track record of success in performing/communicating oversight in a technical environment
• Comprehensive understanding of the Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities
• In-depth knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures
• Proficient in DOE’s program management practices, policies and procedures
• Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn and utilize, various technology management tools used at Hanford
• Exceptional communication skills
• Expert-level proficient in Microsoft 365

Job Duties:

• Perform as an HFO Field Engineer on the Low-Activity Waste (LAW) and Balance of Facility (BOF) and Analytical Laboratory (LAB) systems for the WTP Project.
• Perform oversight and assessment of the contractor engineering activities and programs for various mechanical, chemical (e.g., ammonia) and ventilation structures, systems, and components.
• Performs oversight and assessment activities in the field consistently (not less than 2x per week).
• Conducts in-depth analysis of technical engineering issues, requirements and development efforts and the resolution of major conflicts, unique issues and engineering uncertainties.
• Debriefs other engineers, staff and management on unusual, difficult or controversial technical engineering matters.
• Provides opinions and recommendations relative to planning, organizing and implementing engineering projects and processes.
• Monitor contractor work processes and report on successes or obstacles for LAW, BOF and LAB facility engineering activities.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of facility and system engineering requirements.
• Provide timely and accurate input (oversight reports, weekly reports, email, verbal, etc.) to WED, AMWTP and HFO Management (when requested) regarding contractor performance for engineering activities.
• Utilize excellent writing and communication skills in all interactions.
