Job description

Senior Lean Practitioner

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Manufacturing, Safety & Quality --- Air Dominance Lean team is looking to add a Senior Lean Practitioner (Level 4). The successful candidate will be a Lean+ / Operational Excellence expert to support Boeing Production System implementation, and maturity, working collaboratively across the F-15 Production System to embed lean principles and tactics to achieve business objectives.

This teammate will be responsible for working in partnership with BDS Program and manufacturing teams, along with other stakeholders throughout the enterprise, to drive the integration of BPS / Operational Excellence best practices to enable world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency. This includes training and implementation of 5S+ standard practices across the STL Site and Air Dominance Programs to achieve key milestones maturing sustained 5S+ practices to world class levels.

The successful candidate will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of Lean+ manufacturing solutions to satisfy program needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles
  • Develops and updates instructional materials
  • Mentors future instructors and less experienced practitioners
  • Works with internal or external customers
  • Leads and facilitates complex process improvement efforts
  • Identifies risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Creates enhancements to existing improvement tools
  • Supports the development and deployment of new tools
  • Supports business acquisition
  • Participates in the evaluation process

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+years of experience implementing Lean principles, to include identifying opportunities and making recommendations for value stream improvements that resulted in improved business position through culture transformation
  • 5+ years of experience in Lean events, such as Accelerated Improvement Workshop (AIW) or Value Steam Mapping (VSM) or have you completed a Lean class
  • 5+ years of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, transitions, or initiatives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work or military experience
  • Knowledge and application of the Boeing Production System (BPS)
  • Previous experience with business case development, stakeholder alignment, benefits capture, and continuous improvements
