At MPP, you'll be part of a team that uses state-of-the-art technology to create components that power some of the most recognizable aircraft in the world, including the Boeing 737 MAX, the Airbus A320neo, and other commercial aircraft.


Job Summary: This position inspects and performs the final finishing of cast metal parts in compliance with specifications and quality standards. We are willing to train!
Responsibilities:

  • Works with stationary and hand-held grinders, grit blast cabinets, and hand gauges
  • Follows written instructions, blueprints and photographs
  • Will learn methods used for polishing casting surfaces to remove high metal roughness, blending/removing defects, sizing and/or coining features to a tolerance and inspecting the effected area’s dimensions for conformance
  • Visually inspects castings for defects.
  • Trained in using Magna Mic for inspecting wall thickness on castings, operating grit blast cabinet(s) and inspecting for uniform coverage
  • Reviews router instruction and quantity for acceptance
  • Removes surface defects by filing, grinding, sanding or shot blasting.
  • Checks dimensions to meet specifications.
  • Records data on travelers.
  • Provides preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Adheres to schedule to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Responds to fluctuating workload.
  • Keeps work area clean and free from debris.

Schedules:

  • 2nd (night) Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3am - includes 10% pay differential!

All Initial Training will occur on Day Shift ( 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday)


Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
  • Occasionally lifts 25 – 45lbs.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Mathematical and reading skills.
  • Ability to (or willing to learn how to) read blueprints, specifications, charts, tables and gauges.
  • Near vision of (natural or corrected) of 20/30 or better using either Snellen or tumbling E chart. Tested using both eyes together.
  • Normal color vision or adequate color vision to distinguish between colors found in the applicable inspection process.
  • Good attention to detail and eye/hand coordination skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • US Person Status
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
