You must pass all sanctioned job compatibility/psychological examination. * If you are conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, you must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or similar course. * You may be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with USMC and DOD policy. * *CONTINUED IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION* Qualifications GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws; AND six months of specialized experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. GS-03 : Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. To qualify based on education, applicant must possess: GS-4: * 2 years above high school Two years of successfully completed study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 12 semester hours in police administration, police law and evidence, police investigation, criminology, law enforcement, general law, or similar subjects closely related to police work. GS-3: * 1 year above high school One year of successfully completed study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 6 semester hours of study pertinent to police work. OR Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one-year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience equal to one hundred percent. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to 6 months of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal to 100 percent. SUBSTITUTION OF TRAINING FOR EXPERIENCE NOTE: Successful completion of a Federal, State, county, or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods, and local law and regulations, may be substituted for a maximum of 3 months of specialized experience or 6 months of general experience. As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, you must be able to train and wear protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots, and gloves.
