Pier Installation Barge Captain

Lake Country Barge – Pewaukee, WI

Lake Country Barge is looking for an experienced, safety-focused Barge Captain to lead pier and boat lift installation operations on Southeastern Wisconsin lakes. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows marine equipment, understands crews, and takes pride in doing the job right. We are expanding quickly and have several roles to fill.

What You’ll Do

  • Safely operate and captain installation barges during pier and boat lift installs, removals, and transports
  • Lead a crew during daily marine service operations
  • Execute job plans, navigating barges accurately for pier and lift placement
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and report maintenance needs
  • Communicate with operations management regarding job progress and site conditions
  • Maintain professionalism with customers on-site
  • Enforce safety protocols and lake regulations at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience operating barges, work boats, or similar marine equipment
  • Strong leadership and crew-management skills
  • Knowledge of pier systems, boat lifts, and shoreline work (preferred)
  • Ability to read lake conditions, weather, and site constraints
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around heavy equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Safety-first mindset with attention to detail
