Our facility is comprised of a 100-boat indoor showroom, 100 wet-slip marina, fuel dock, and 400 seat restaurant and entertainment venue. We accomplish this through a team of dedicated individuals who set the standard for excellence in the marine industry.
Job Description
Drivers (yard staff) are responsible for moving boats on trailers over land and on water. Drivers load boats on and off blocks using hydraulic trailers, unload and load boats from semi-trailer transports, and use forklifts to move boats. The majority of boat moving takes place in and around the yard and storage facilities all within a 10 mile radius of the main marina. Drivers also haul boats over-the-road from time to time as needed.
Drivers play a pivotal role in logistics within the marine dealership's operations. They are entrusted with the careful transportation of customer's boats and dealership inventory as well as the efficient use of the marina's storage and slips facilities. Drivers facilitate the service department's efficiency by ensuring timely movement of boats for repair, launch etc. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, drivers maintain a close working relationship with Parts personnel and Service Writers and technicians.
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:
  • Careful Movement of All Boats as directed by Service Manager and Dispatchers (service writers)
  • Efficient management of storage space by accurate positioning of storage boats within the building
  • Maintenance of Storage Log to record boat locations
  • Report any damaged equipment or damages to boats to service manager
  • Keeping storage facilities locked and secure
  • Always wear a radio to facilitate communication
  • Follow safety rules, processes, and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
  • Positive Attitude
  • Team-Oriented and likes working in a fast-paced environment
  • Careful with equipment
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance, displaying flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Proficient in driving, docking, trailering, and hoisting various types of boats, including outboard pontoons, v-drive and inboard boats, and twin-engine boats.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a clean driving record, meeting legal requirements for operating vehicles.
Professional Development
  • CDL (commercial driver's license) preferred
