Nature of the work 

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing various technical tasks related to the management of human, development and implementation of standards and activities related to administrative operations. As part of his or her duties, the employee may assist professionals and senior staff. 

Description of tasks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares financial statements.

  • Performs accounting entries, transfers, reconciliations, and other related tasks.

  • Conducts technical account analyses and prepares reports.

  • Verifies and controls transactions carried out by others, detects errors, and corrects them.

  • Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data necessary for budget preparation and participates in its development.

  • Monitors the budget and analyzes specific accounts.

  • Informs and assists relevant personnel to ensure compliance with established rules.

  • May respond to auditors’ requests and provide required information and supporting documentation.

  • Prepares invoicing.

Other Characteristics of this Position:

  • Develops and adapts work methods and procedures, ensuring their application in the execution of routine activities in certain areas.

  • Collaborates in analyzing material resource needs, participates in the development of standards, and monitors their implementation.

  • Applies or adapts management techniques to perform specific administrative activities and routine operations.

  • Produces reports for relevant organizations and ensures their submission.

  • Uses computers and various software necessary for the completion of tasks.

  • Conducts research and may assist staff in using software specific to their work.

  • May be called upon to train less experienced technicians and coordinate the work of support staff in tasks related to the technical programs for which she/he is responsible.

  • Performs any other related tasks as needed.

Desired profile

Schooling

Hold a college diploma in accounting and management techniques or in other techniques relevant to this job classification, or in other techniques with a specialization appropriate to the job classification, or hold a diploma or certificate of studies whose equivalency is recognized by the competent authority.

Experience and other requirements

  • Bilingual, French and English (oral and written)

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly with Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams as well as the Google environment 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of GRICS, particularly DOFIN and TFP, would be considered an asset
