Pay Rate: 34.00 per hour
(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour worked between 12:00am-4:59am)
Job Description:
  • Control wastewater treatment systems to ensure the effluent water to the industrial ponds are within the defined limits.
  • Control sludge de-watering equipment to ensure maximum separation of solids and water.
  • Interpret samples drawn from DAF cells, solids tank, effluent water, centrifuge and belt presses and make adjustments to chemical feed and process systems to produce desired results.
  • Enter collected data into the computer.
  • Accurately record inventory of DAF chemicals on a rotation basis
  • Truck spot sludge truck periodically
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Six (6) months of experience in the operation of wastewater treatment plant solids de-watering equipment, preferred
  • Must have knowledge of hazardous chemical handling, to include experience in and knowledge of the use of chemicals in the treatment of industrial wastewater.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools (such as grinder, drill, etc.)
  • Must have good written and oral English communications skills
  • Must have a demonstrated work history of dependability, particularly with regard to safety and attendance
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts & weekends
  • Must be able to pass written tests
  • Must have clean DMV record and valid California driver's license; must maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be trained in lock-out tag-out and safe work practices
  • Must be able to bend, stoop walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders and in confined spaces safely
  • Must be able to work from high altitudes, catwalks and roofs
  • Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work on wet concrete floors
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and times dictated by production equipment requirements/needs
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
