Job description

About Bluestone Construction
Bluestone Construction is a growing general contracting company headquartered on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We manage renovation and construction projects across New York City, working primarily with subcontractors across all trades. As we scale, we're looking for an experienced Senior Field Manager to own day-to-day operations across our active project portfolio.
The Role
This is a senior, mobile, high-accountability role. You will be the operational backbone of Bluestone's field operations โ€” moving between active job sites, managing subcontractors, keeping projects on schedule, and serving as the primary liaison between ownership, clients, and the trades. You report directly to the owner and have real authority to make things happen.
What You'll Own:
  • Oversee multiple active job sites across New York City simultaneously
  • Manage subcontractor relationships โ€” scheduling, accountability, and performance
  • Ensure every project is on schedule, on budget, and running safely
  • Conduct regular site visits and document progress with photos and written updates
  • Identify and resolve field problems before they escalate
  • Coordinate material orders and deliveries across all active projects
  • Serve as the on-site face of Bluestone for clients, building owners, and inspectors
  • Hold site supervisors accountable and provide day-to-day direction to field staff
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of field management or construction project management experience in NYC
  • Proven track record managing subcontractors across multiple trades (carpentry, demo, MEP, etc.)
  • Strong communicator โ€” written, verbal, and in person โ€” with clients and trades alike
  • Ability to read basic construction documents and schedules
  • Organized and self-directed โ€” you don't need to be micromanaged
  • NYC SST Safety Card (40-hour) required; OSHA 30 preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Valid driver's license a plus
Why Bluestone:
  • Direct working relationship with company ownership โ€” no corporate bureaucracy
  • Real authority to make decisions and run operations your way
  • Competitive salary with room to grow as the company grows
  • Stable pipeline of projects across a variety of scopes and building types
  • Be part of building something โ€” this role has long-term upside
Bluestone Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
