Job description

Strittmatter Companiesisseeking a motivated, customer-focused Business Development Associate-Materials & Aggregates to support the sale of landscape and construction materials, including soil blends, dirt, rock, sand, bluestone, and recycled concrete. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, understands material needs, and can confidently help customers select the right products for their projects.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and promote soil blends, topsoil, fill dirt, sand, gravel, decorative rock, bluestone, recycled concrete, and other aggregate materials.
  • Build andmaintainrelationships withland developers, site contractors, landscapers, cemeteries,homeowner associations, commercial contractors, and municipal customers.
  • Assistcustomers with product selection, quantities, pricing, delivery needs, and material recommendations based on project requirements.
  • Generate new business through outbound calls, referrals, site visits, networking, and follow-up communication.
  • Prepare quotes, process orders, and coordinate delivery or pickup schedules.
  • Work closely with dispatch, yard operations, trucking, and management to ensureaccurateandtimelycustomer service.
  • Maintain knowledge of available materials, inventory, pricing, and seasonal demand.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and order changes professionally and promptly.
  • Track sales activity, customer information, and opportunities in company systems.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times and help promote a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Previoussales, customer service, construction materials, landscaping, aggregates, site development, cemetery operations, or building supply experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of soil, stone, sand, recycled concrete, bluestone, and other landscape or construction materials is a plus.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with land developers, contractors, landscapers, cemetery representatives, vendors, homeowners, and commercial customers.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment whilemaintainingaccuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn quoting, ordering, and customer management systems.
  • Self-motivated witha strong senseof urgency and follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportationrequired.
