Job description

Summary:
·
Automation Technician is to build, maintain and troubleshoot robotic and automation systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or
pneumatics.
Essential Functions:
·
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
·
Work with Maintenance Manager to schedule work to be done to support production.
·
Perform electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic modifications on fixtures.
·
Support a team concept of working together in a mutually supportive atmosphere, respecting individuality, encouraging and using
suggestions, and expressing appreciation for the efforts of our co-workers at all levels.
·
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to maximize
machine utilization and productivity
·
Fabricate automation and robotic systems to increase production and quality.
·
Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors.
·
Integrate robotics with peripherals, such as welders, controllers, or other equipment.
·
Provide user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation,
upgrades, or enhancements.
·
Provide customer support, determine sources of problems, trouble shoot to resolution.
·
Disassemble and reassemble robots or peripheral equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards,
sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
·
Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
·
Program / Debug robotics programs
·
Build or assemble robotic devices or systems.
·
Fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures, using metalworking machines.
·
Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
·
Maintain service records of robotic equipment or automated production systems.
·
Document tasks performed and inventory items used on a daily basis
·
Create back-ups of robot and controls programs or parameters.
·
Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
·
Other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to maintain and operate a safe, efficient, and quality conscious
operation.
·
Environmental Responsibilities- May be required to functions as a member of the environmental response action team, with
specialized training as listed in the tracking system. Provides OJT to personnel where and when appropriate.
·
Troubleshoot major electrical issues on all manufacturing equipment
