Job description

Reily Foods Company has a passion for flavor and has been providing iconic foods and beverages that create meals and memories for over 120 years! Our products consist of New England Coffee, French Market Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, Tiger Sauce, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in foodservice and retail locations around the country.

Job Summary: The Line Mechanic Lead is responsible for safely troubleshooting and repairing production equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently as well as acting as a leader to Line Mechanics. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Safely troubleshoot and repair all production and processing equipment in a department efficiently and effectively in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), food/employee safety requirements and guidelines to ensure daily production goals are achieved. 
  • Act as leader for Line Mechanics in the department 
  • Utilize Root Cause problem solving to deep dive into repetitive equipment issues or failures. 
  • Effectively prioritize equipment issues in order of importance, manage downtime, and communicate issues to peers and leadership.
  • Utilize Digital Production System (Redzone) to lead huddles, track downtime, perform quality compliance documents and communicate with support functions.
  • Responsible for completing change overs for their assigned equipment and/or production line. 
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance on processing and production equipment in assigned department is completed accurately and on time. 
  • Technical Master on their production equipment. Subject Matter Expert for equipment upgrades/installs. 
  • Owns a Safety system and maintains a system rating of seven or above. 
  • Utilizes HMI interface to diagnose equipment issues and make equipment adjustments. 
  • Leads Multi Cause Analysis (MCA) and adds input within their area of expertise.
  • Understands production process and inputs for their production lines and potential impacts. 
  • Responsible for learning and maintaining customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality.
  • Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications.
  • Accurately completes all quality, traceability, and production paperwork. 
  • Reports any product deficiencies, food or safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and ensures all tools are accounted for. 
  • Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Reports any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
  • Supports and complies with GMP’s.  Understands and follows emergency action plan.
  • Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: The minimum requirements below are representative of the education and experience required to perform this job successfully.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of machine/troubleshooting repair experience preferred.
