Building Leadership Team Member
Description:
Collaborative teams are essential for shared leadership and effective communication. District, building and teacher-based teams share responsibility for improving student achievement as part of a system-wide improvement focus.
Job Duties:
BLT team members will work with their building administrator to do the following:
  • Supports the implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process at the building level
  • Completes the One Needs Assessment as needed/required
  • Develops, monitors, and revises the school improvement plan (i.e. One Plan)
  • Analyzes student achievement data (i.e. local report card data, state and district assessment results, short cycle data, etc.)
  • Provides feedback to Teacher Based Teams (TBT) teams
  • Monitors student attendance data
  • Monitors student discipline data in collaboration with the PBIS Team.
  • Develops family engagement plans
  • Makes recommendations around resource allocation to meet identified needs
  • Assists in planning/delivering Professional Development around building needs
  • Reflects on team effectiveness and makes adjustments as needed
  • Maintains a 75% or better attendance rate.

BLT Team Member - 2% supplemental
Recommended Members
The Building leadership team (BLT) draws from all levels of the organization and may include:
  • Principal and school administrators;
  • Teachers serving across specialties and grade levels, such as teacher leaders, general education teachers, and intervention specialists;
  • Non certified staff;
  • Counseling and support service providers;
  • Family and community members; and
  • Central office administrator

Each school will have one coordinator and the number of team members allotted below. Buildings may elect to have less than the allotted team members. Having more than the allocated team members requires written consent from the superintendent.
