Job description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Human Resources team is recruiting for an HR Systems and Operations Analyst II to join our dynamic and committed HRIS team of professionals. Our forward-looking team works as a collaborative, caring partner to ensure the efficient delivery of HR services in meeting the needs of those we serve. We are committed to demonstrating integrity and a positive, forward-thinking approach with the services we offer.  

The HR Systems and Operations Analyst II will maintain the integrity and reliability of UAB's human resource systems and to assist, advise and serve as a resource for other HR Systems and Operations Analysts on complex issues. This position will provide technical and analytical support of enterprise-wide HR operations, processes, integrations, and systems. Plan, design, test, and implement new HR solutions with a focus on reporting, analyzing, and supporting HR business operations. To serve as liaison between HR professionals/executives and central IT to provide ad-hoc and periodic reports, develop BI dashboards, develop and support state, federal and local compliance reports to agencies such as DOL, BLS, and others.  

Essential Accountabilities: 

· Analyze HR systems, integrations, and processes to develop Compliance and BI dashboards 

· Develop, Implement, and support automated reporting solutions for federal, state, and local reporting requirements 

· Support HR and enterprise decision making through custom reporting and metrics development 

· Maintain and improve HR Data Warehouse by setting up data pipelines 

· Create, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor SQL server jobs and make sure ETL and export jobs run smoothly 

· Coordinate with central IT to set up and/or maintain interfaces among HR systems 

· Optimize and automate HR processes when needed 

· Create technical and functional documentation 

· Problem solving in a team environment  

The ideal candidate will: 

· Have demonstrated expertise in ETL development using SSIS or similar technologies at an enterprise scale 

· Detail oriented and have experience in data analysis and BI 

· Have database programming and design experience using T-SQL or PL/SQL. 

· Be self-managed and proactive 

· Anticipate and prevent potential problems 

· Be a team player and willing to share knowledge in the team 

· Be willing to go above and beyond and play an essential role in UAB HR’s continued advancement   

 

Salary

Salary commensurate with experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Math or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
