Job description

Work Schedule: Nights (5 Consecutive Nights); Days/Hours are open to discussion, additional hours based on business need.

Job Summary:

The Blow Mold Supervisor will guide and support the daily activities and manufacturing in the Blow Mold Department ensuring safety and following all operating procedures and all general guidelines. This role works on the production floor providing ongoing support of daily operations both on machine or off as needed or determined by blow mold manager to safely meet the goals and daily production targets within the Blow mold department.

  • Provide all aspects of Leadership to blow molding employees.
  • Personnel responsibilities include but not limited to shift scheduling, team building, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and training while maintaining a high level of morale.
  • Supervise / hold evening shift change board meetings
  • Ensure proper Blow Mold employees are on shift to maintain a safe and efficient shift
  • Inspect bottle quality per shift and ensure that only 100% quality bottle goes out of department.
  • Enforce company policies and hold employees accountable in instances of non-compliance, issuing coaching and corrective action when appropriate.
  • Lead the team in promoting the company safety program, immediately identifying and eliminating safety risks / habits and or behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance of all OSHA regulations and GMP’s.
  • Provide technical support to the operation of blow mold machines including all auxiliary equipment. This may require troubleshooting and/or hands-on repair of all department equipment to ensure safe and efficient repairs.
  • Train machine operators in safe and quality operation of all blow mold equipment.
  • Maintain parts inventory supplies for the safety and maintenance of all Blow Mold machines and support equipment.
  • Maintain support and schedule personnel for Blow Mold manufacturing and bagging and debagging of blow molded bottles.
  • Foster a positive productive work environment for team members by leading by example and assisting the department as needed.
  • Ensure a 90% preventive maintenance completion as required by HP Hood.
  • Responsible for maintaining 90% machine efficiency and a 1% or less scrap rate.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years blow mold experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Must be self-motivated

Working Conditions Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to be on call for any blow mold repairs or department issues 24/7.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced factory environment.
  • Ability to work in loud environments with required hearing protection.
  • Ability to operate forklift occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently use a ladder.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, lift, twist, reach, lean over, pull, crouch, stoop, push, crawl and stand on concrete for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs periodically and use force for equipment adjustments.
