Job description

We are seeking an experienced investment professional to lead Allspring’s partnership with Bloomberg focused on advancing agentic AI–powered workflows for our investment teams. This role will design, refine, and implement AI-driven processes within the Bloomberg ecosystem to enhance research, trading, and portfolio management effectiveness.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.  

Location(s): Charlotte, NC, Milwaukee, WI, or Boston, MA


  • Serve as Allspring’s primary liaison with Bloomberg to co-develop and deploy agentic AI workflow solutions tailored for investment professionals.
  • Translate investment team needs into AI-enabled use cases that can be operationalized within Bloomberg tools, APIs, and data environments.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate AI workflows in partnership with research analysts, traders, and portfolio managers.
  • Assess existing investment processes and identify opportunities where AI can automate, augment, or accelerate decision-making.
  • Evaluate data quality, model performance, and workflow reliability, ensuring solutions meet the standards of institutional asset management.
  • Provide subject-matter guidance to investment teams on AI capabilities, limitations, and best practices for adoption.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Technology to align Bloomberg-integrated AI workflows with firmwide AI strategy.
  • Support change management, training, and documentation for newly deployed AI workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience working as part of the investment process (e.g., investment research analyst, trader, or portfolio manager).
  • Strong understanding of institutional investment workflows, including research processes, data usage, trading workflows, and portfolio construction.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with or leveraging Bloomberg systems, data, and tools in an investment context.
  • Hands-on experience applying analytical, technical, or AI capabilities to improve investment or trading workflows.
  • Ability to translate investment problems into structured technical requirements and partner with engineers/data scientists to deliver solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior investment professionals and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional programming experience in Python, particularly for workflow automation, API integration, or model prototyping.
  • Experience working with AI/ML models, LLMs, or agentic frameworks in an applied business environment.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg APIs (e.g., BLPAPI) or AI-related Bloomberg initiatives.
  • Prior experience producing investment technology tools or serving in a hybrid investment-technology role.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) or relevant industry certifications (CFA, CAIA, etc.).

Base Pay Range: $135,000 - $175,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
