Crypto Business Development Intern

LayerZero Labs

New York, NY • On-site

Full-time, Internship

Posted 9 hours ago

Job description

LayerZero
The Future is Omnichain.
Founded in 2021, LayerZero's vision is to create a community of cross-chain developers, building dApps that are no longer constrained by individual blockchain capabilities. With LayerZero's simple, generic messaging protocol, builders will develop cross-chain dApps designed to unify the power of individual blockchains.
We are funded by the best investors in the world including:
a16z, Sequoia, PayPal, Binance Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Uniswap Labs, Circle Ventures, Delphi Digital, and many more.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated full-time intern to work closely with the Crypto BD team on client management, deal origination and closure, research and more. This role will support Senior BD Leads, as well as giving you a chance to lead deals of your own - the perfect opportunity to break into the crypto space, and definitely not a traditional cookie-cutter internship. This is a paid opportunity.
In addition to helping drive business development, you will also play a key role in supporting GTM initiatives, participating in flagship conferences, and establishing thought leadership through an active online and offline presence. You will help to represent our mission to the broader crypto ecosystem, helping to ensure we are viewed in market as the leading provider of blockchain infrastructure.
This role requires versatility, combining skills in business development, partnership management, brand-building, and operational execution. Success will require entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and a high degree of ownership to adapt and execute in a complex and evolving environment.
Our team leaves egos at the door, works hard, has big ambitions, and is passionate about building the infrastructure interoperability layer of tomorrow. We expect the same from you. The working environment is fast paced with plenty of ambiguity, change, and odd hours. You have to be okay with that as we continue to grow and mature as an organization, but if you are, this is the role for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Market Research & Development
    • Analyze the market to identify unique opportunities, competitors, and new trends within the broader crypto ecosystem
  • Lead Generation
    • Drive growth through prospecting and qualification within the crypto BD vertical through various channels (X.com, LinkedIn, conferences), generating net new opportunities and meetings for the Crypto BD team
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work cross-functionally across teams on Ecosystem and GTM to drive meaningful integrations and initiatives, draft impactful customer proposals aligned to our business standards
  • Enable and Evangelize
    • Help enable teams to build out their core protocol functionalities using the LayerZero stack. Be an evangelist around LayerZero's core ethos, the opportunities available through using the protocol, and the support and guidance given by the LayerZero team
WHO YOU ARE
  • You're extremely knowledgeable on all things DeFi - you know current trends, interesting projects, the mechanics of interoperability, the direction of the industry over the next year, etc. You're someone who reads protocol docs for fun and then tests their knowledge by using the live app; you're also constantly looking for the next great company/idea/vertical in crypto
  • You've demonstrated your interest in crypto publicly - you've written blogs, posted on X, participated in groups, and shared your learnings with others
  • You're a natural problem solver who is highly organized and can juggle multiple tasks at once
  • You're proactive, take initiative, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. Ideally, you've worked in a startup environment before, and wanted to go back for more
  • You have a solid understanding of business development operations, including deal tracking, pipeline management and forecasting
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working across different teams
  • You're comfortable with a high level of responsibility and are excited about the opportunity to support the crypto team closely and actively
