Job description

Tempo is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoins and real-world payments, born from Stripe's experience in global payments and Paradigm's expertise in crypto tech.
Tempo's payment-first design provides a scalable, low-cost predictable backbone that meets the needs of high-volume payment use cases. Our goal is to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale. Our north star is simplicity for users: fintechs, traditional banks, merchants, platforms, and anyone else looking to move their payments into the 21st century.
We're building Tempo with design partners who are global leaders in AI, e-commerce, and financial services: Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and more.
We're a team of crypto-optimists, building the infrastructure needed to bring real, substantial economic flows onchain. We like to move fast and swing for the fences - join us!
The Role
You'll help put the Tempo blockchain in the hands of real users. That happens in two ways: building first-party products like Tempo Wallet, and working directly with customers to integrate Tempo into their stablecoin flows. You'll work closely with production grade blockchain systems, money movement flows.
This role is a strong fit for a former founder, or someone who wants to start a company one day. You'll get exposure to a wide range of business-critical payments and crypto problems across startups, mid-market companies, and enterprises. You'll move between building products and deploying them inside customer environments, gaining a deep understanding of the full product, integration, and go-to-market cycle.
Responsibilities
  • Build internal and first-party applications on top of Tempo for both agents and humans
  • Partner with startups and enterprises to integrate Tempo into their payment systems
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Tempo blockchain and its product surface area
  • Navigate unfamiliar codebases and organizations quickly to get products shipped
  • Bring field learnings back to Tempo to improve the product, developer experience, and blockchain itself

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including 1+ year(s) in crypto
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to travel within the US to work with partners when needed
  • Track record of shipping mission-critical systems where safety and reliability matter
  • Ability to balance speed, pragmatism, and technical quality

Attributes
  • High motor
  • Razor-sharp thinker with precise command of language
  • Concise, evidence-based communicator
  • Excellent organizational and logistical skills
  • Intense curiosity and open-mindedness
  • Scrappiness; willingness to roll up sleeves
