Job description

The Software Engineer III is an experienced full-stack software developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications and services. This role serves as a key contributor in the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions that support business objectives across the organization.

Working within an Agile environment, the Software Engineer III collaborates closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into innovative technical solutions. The position requires strong expertise in modern Microsoft technologies, API development, cloud-ready architectures, and front-end frameworks including Angular and Blazor.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, mentoring, and adherence to software engineering best practices. This role is expected to drive continuous improvement efforts while helping modernize existing applications and build next-generation solutions.

The Software Engineer III maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values and upholds the standards and expectations of the organization.


Application Development & Support

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Develop and support modern web applications utilizing Angular, Blazor, and TypeScript.
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and service-based solutions that support internal and external business processes.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues, application defects, and performance concerns.
  • Enhance and modernize existing applications while ensuring stability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Develop reusable components, services, and frameworks that promote consistency and efficiency across solutions.
  • Ensure applications meet security, quality, performance, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor application health and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Contribute to application architecture, technical design decisions, and technology roadmaps.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices, coding standards, and secure development principles.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and development processes.
  • Collaborate with architects and senior technical leaders to implement scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across project teams. 

    Data & Integration

    • Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects to support application requirements.
    • Integrate applications with internal and third-party systems through APIs, messaging, and service-oriented architectures.
    • Support data validation, migration, and integration activities as required.

    Collaboration & Delivery

    • Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
    • Assist in project planning, effort estimation, and timeline development.
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, API specifications, and operational procedures.
    • Support deployment activities and continuous improvement initiatives across development teams.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience developing applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET platform.
  • Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and service-oriented applications.
  • Experience with Angular and/or Blazor for modern web application development.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience using source control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and modern .NET development frameworks.
  • Experience with Blazor Server and Blazor WebAssembly.
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and modern front-end development practices.

The expected salary range for this role is (USD $76,600.00 - USD $115,000.00 Yr.)
