Job description

We are looking for a BLASTER MACHINE OPERATOR to join our Alexandria, MN plant.  As a Blaster Machine Operator with Contech you will contribute to America’s essential infrastructure including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and structures, and stormwater management.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Receive instructions and schedules from plant supervision.
  • Blasts bridges inside blast booth to remove mill scale and prep steel surface for paint.
  • Perform operator maintenance on booth and spray hose.
  • Check all finished work for obvious defects prior to final inspection.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in clean, orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

We Require:

  • Ability to pass pulmonary fit test and be capable of wearing blast suit for long period of time (2+ hours).
  • Ability to work with precision instruments.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read notes on drawings for project instructions.
