Job Summary and Qualifications

Lead MRI Technologist

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals.  We are currently seeking a Lead MRI Technologist on a full-time basis. If you are dedicated to caring for others, this could be the next step in your career. 

As Lead MRI Technologist, duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the assignment of staff and coordination of departmental operations in ensuring quality patient care
  • Assists director with interviewing and serves as a clinical resource and mentor
  • Demonstrate a strong and thorough knowledge of all MRI and associated equipment
  • Obtain high-quality MR images assuring only optimal films are submitted for interpretation
  • Facilitate the MRI procedure by selecting proper technical factors/techniques to accommodate all patients and select, prepare and administer the appropriate contrast material
  • Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
  • Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases
  • Keep room stocked with necessary supplies
  • Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care

Qualifications

· Graduate of a 2-year Radiologic Technology program at an accredited school

· Three (3) to five (5) years previous MRI Technologist experience, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting

· Clear/active State of Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)

· Valid ARRT (MR)

· Current basic life support (BLS) certification

· Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, computer and clerical skills

· Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
