POSITION SUMMARY


The Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Duties include managing trade professionals to perform specific tasks, monitoring budget and expenses for staff, supplies and tools. The Electrical Foreman is expected to direct, supervise and troubleshoot routine issues that occur on the job, ensure all safety rules are followed and develop work schedules based on employee and contractor availability.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Lead crew in daily safe operations.
  • Manage workloads, supplies, equipment, and reporting.
  • Cut, bend and run conduit as specified on blueprints.
  • Install, modify and fabricate cable tray as necessary according to specifications.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  • Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment such as but not limited to breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
  • Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and to ensure the equipment is in good operational condition.
  • Setup and maintain temporary power systems.
  • Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's license and clear driving record
  • Must possess the ability to work with hand tools.
  • Must be a detail oriented, self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to work both cooperatively and independently. 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a good attitude and the ability to learn new skills.
  • Must be a team player, willingness to help.
  • Must have the ability to adapt positively to changes in policies, procedures and priorities, or work environments.
  • Ability to read and write English required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work primarily at job site performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme temperatures.
