Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule: Full-time, School-Based
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate: Starting at $55/hour (dependent on experience)

Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a school-based setting in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

This opportunity is ideal for an OT who is passionate about helping students develop the functional, sensory, fine motor, visual-motor, and self-care skills they need to participate successfully in the classroom and school environment.

The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with educators, families, and other related service providers to deliver individualized occupational therapy services tailored to student needs and IEP goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals.

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students.

  • Address fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-care, and functional skills.

  • Recommend and implement appropriate accommodations, adaptive equipment, and classroom supports.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and service records.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers.

  • Provide consultation and recommendations to classroom staff regarding student needs.

  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program preferred.

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license required or eligibility to obtain.

  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
