Location: San Diego, CA
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Job Overview
We are seeking a Lab Assistant, Tissue Sectioning to join our team in San Diego. This role is responsible for performing essential laboratory support tasks, including tissue sectioning and processing in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You will work closely with the laboratory team to ensure smooth operations and consistent, high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities
• Slice tissue using specialized equipment in a controlled laboratory environment
• Process and section tissue to ensure high-quality production for diagnostic applications
• Maintain and clean sectioning equipment according to SOPs
• Accurately document all processing and manufacturing activities
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate concerns as needed
• Assist with equipment setup, inventory control, and general lab organization
• Follow all safety guidelines and promptly report hazards
• Participate in department initiatives such as 6S, cycle counts, and continuous improvement projects
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support laboratory operations

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• 0–1 years of laboratory or related experience preferred
• Ability to work with hands in a cold environment
• Familiarity with biological or chemical lab practices is a plus
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• U.S. work authorization required
