Job description

Job Title: Research Associate

Department: ResearchInstitute

Location: Various Clinical Sites

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week

Schedule:Full-time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 8 am- 4.30 pm.

Position Summary:
The Research Associate will be tasked with conducting work as a part of the Rochester General Research Institute.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and performs complex laboratory experiments.

  • Plans, conducts and completes projects of limited scope or portion of larger and more diverse projects.

  • Performs research in clinical immunology and microbiology and analyzes resulting data.

  • Assists with QC procedures currently in place and in implementation and modification of new and existing procedures as pertains to equipment and protocols.

  • Assists with the design and implementation of research protocols. Collaborates with investigators to create and/or modify protocols utilized.

  • Teaches and oversees the work of other technicians in the group.

  • Prepares and organizes results of assays in various reporting forms.

  • Review of pertinent literature as it applies to ongoing and proposed research projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Attributes:

  • 2-4 years of clinical laboratory experience with background in virology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, and GLP/cGMP preferred.

  • Strong analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to operate independently with limited supervision to resolve problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
