Manager, Facilities and Engineering - IFM Scope
The actual location for this position is onsite in Pearland, TX.
Lonza Houston is seeking a Manager, Facilities and Engineering, responsible for leading the reliable operation, maintenance, compliance, and strategic planning of site facilities in support of business, operational, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership for daily facilities operations, contractor oversight, budgeting, staffing, space planning, and facility expansion planning to ensure the Houston site remains safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.

What you will do:
Site Facilities Operation and Maintenance
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the reliable operation and maintenance of Houston site facilities.
  • Ensure facilities systems, infrastructure, and building operations are maintained to support site needs, business continuity, and operational readiness.

Facilities Leadership and Daily Operations
  • Direct and lead daily Facilities operations across the site.
  • Manage departmental budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for facilities-related activities.

Contractor and Site Services Management
  • Lead contractor vetting, selection, and supervision for site support services.
  • Oversee contractor performance in the areas of:
    • Plant security
    • GMP Cleaning services
    • Non-GMP Cleaning services
    • Cafeteria services
    • Pest control programs
    • Building maintenance technician services
  • Ensure contractors meet site expectations for safety, quality, compliance, and service performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Biotechnology, or similar field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Highly experienced in Facilities Engineering; Pharma or Biotech industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes
  • Strong financial acumen, ability to effectively partner with vendor.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions
